Priotity Setting Frameworks most interested me.  As this is something that is quite prevalent in our first semester.  Learning how to prioritize is a key part of the nursing process.  This module reinforced Maslows Hierarchy and ABC’s.  We have quickly realized that daily we will be presented with scenarios that need to be quickly and thoughtfully assessed. 

The concepts have been covered in Adult Health I and it is clearly a foundation for nursing practice.  Setting priority is challenging as we as nurses see our patients needs and feel the need to care and attend to them all.  To approach those needs with a sense of prioritizing urgency, safety, and these frameworks are extremely valuable.

We have already begun to apply this framework in our clinical settings.  When we approach a patient, we assess and immediately start gathering information.  Utilizing these frameworks is key in diagnosing, approach, creating a plan, initiating a plan, and reviewing the outcomes.
